Judith L. (Hersick) Jackson

Of Pitcairn, age 69, lost her brave battle with cancer on Friday, October 25, 2024.

Judy was the loving partner of Edward. B. McDowell.

She was the mother of Holly (Dave Bundy) Gaskell, William A. Jackson, Colin Jackson and Riley Jackson.

Judy was the grandmother of Amanda Beiter, Regina Beiter and Zachary Gaskell and great-grandmother of 4.

She was the sister of Janet (Richard) Brooke and special aunt of Ricki Lee, Bucky, Nicole and Jessica and is survived by numerous cousins and other relatives.

Judy is also survived by Ed’s daughters, Jennifer (Justin Janik) Melott and Kristy Metcalf; his grandchildren Brittany, Courtney, William, Sydney and Helen; and  his 2 great-grandchildren.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Alan and Elizabeth (Fisher) Hersick and her former husband, Harmon Jackson.

Judy spent years of her early work career as a waitress at local restaurants including King’s, Ground Round and Red Lobster and then shifted to assembly work at various manufacturing businesses.

She was a dedicated and loving caregiver and shared her kindness and attentive manners with her family and friends.

Friends are welcome on Friday from 5-7pm at Patrick T. Lanigan Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 700 Linden Ave. at Cable, East Pittsburgh, PA 15112, (412) 824-8800 where a Memorial Service will be held at 7 pm.
