Obituary of Joseph Anthony Kozusko

Of Monroeville, age 48, Joseph Anthony Kozusko peacefully passed away on Sunday, January 18, 2026.

Joe was a beloved brother/son/uncle and friend.

Born on July 11, 1977 in Pittsburgh, he was known for his kindness, strength, compassion and peacefulness. Joe was truly a unique soul and will be missed by every life he touched.

Joe was a proud 1995 graduate of Gateway High School and worked for 25 years as a trainer for a large benefits administrator, where he was valued for his dedication, problem-solving and excellent communication skills.

Beyond work, he loved to read, listen to music and podcasts. Joe was a gentle man and was always ready with a listening ear, a helping hand, or so many memorable stories accompanied with an unforgettable hearty laugh.

Joe cherished his family and was an amazing uncle, loving brother and wonderful son. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph “Skip” Kozusko and Kathleen (Mantia) Kozusko. Joe is survived by sisters, Kristen (Doug) Knox and Kaitlyn (Steve) Heisel, his niece Alyssa Knox and his nephew George Heisel.

Friends are welcome on Tuesday from 2-7pm at Patrick T. Lanigan Funeral Home Crematory, Inc., Turtle Creek / Monroeville Chapel, 1111 Monroeville Ave., Turtle Creek, PA 15145, (412) 823-9350 where a Time of Remembrance Service will be held at 7pm.

Joe’s sense of humor, laughter, wisdom, caring and generosity will be deeply missed by all who knew him and his memory will forever remain our guiding light.
