Lifelong resident of Penn Hills, age 52, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, February 13, 2021.
Born the son of Lena (Rapino) Damico and the late Frank Damico, Sr.
Dear father of Joseph (Katie) Damico of AL, Mara Damico, Lena Damico, and Sophia Damico.
Loving grandfather of Baker Damico.
Adored brother of Gina Damico, Florence Johnson, Theresa Damico, and Tina Damico.
Preceded in death by siblings Lena Ann Damico and Frank Damico, Jr.
Former spouse of Susan Reitz and Shelley Damico.
Uncle of Nicole (Chauncey) Gainey, Victoria (fiancé, Christopher Bigenho) Johnson, and Frankie Damico.
Great-uncle of Brandon Gainey and Brailyn Bigenho.
Treasured friend of Steve Scotti and Robert Hamlet.
Joe was a 1987 graduate of Penn Hills High School, where he played for their football team. After graduating, Joe proudly served for two years in the Army National Guard. He worked for years as a cement contractor and was most recently working for Steve Scotti Concrete. Joe greatly enjoyed gardening, fishing, camping, and vacationing. He loved celebrating holidays and was known for setting off fireworks on the 4th of July and enjoying the beauty of Christmas. Most of all, Joe had a deep love for family. He had a special place in his heart for his children, siblings, his new grandson, and his Mom, who Joe often praised for preparing the best home cooked meals.
Friends welcome Wednesday from 2-6 p.m. at Patrick T. Lanigan Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., Turtle Creek / Monroeville Chapel, 1111 Monroeville Ave., Turtle Creek, 412-823-9350, where a Funeral Service will be held at 4 p.m., followed by a presentation of Military Honors.
Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, visitors will be required to wear face masks or coverings and social distancing will be observed.
