John E. "Butch" Susalla

Of Harmony Twp., formerly of East Pittsburgh, age 73, died peacefully at home with his family present on Sunday, April 30, 2023.

Butch was the beloved companion of Mary Renwick-Deere.

Loving  father of Keith Susalla of Harmony and Chris (Michelle Gould) Susalla of McCandless.

Dear grandfather of Darby Susalla, Alex Collins and C.J. Susalla.

Brother of Linda (Henry) Yesionek of Murrysville.

Uncle of Jason and Justin Yesionek.

Butch was preceded in death by his parents, James and Barbara (Rizvan) Susalla.

Butch was a 1967 graduate of East Pittsburgh High School and proudly served in the Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. Upon returning home, Butch began his career with Westinghouse in East Pittsburgh and retired as a winder technician with Siemens. He travelled the world for Siemens repairing generators and power generation equipment before retiring. Butch had an appreciation for cars, especially sports cars and his pride and joy Corvette. He also enjoyed spending time watching the History Channel.

Friends are welcome on Wednesday from 2-7pm at Patrick T. Lanigan Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 700 Linden Avenue at Cable Avenue, East Pittsburgh (412-824-8800) where a Blessing Service will be held at 7 p.m., followed by a Presentation of Military Honors.

Butch will be laid to rest privately in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
