John E. "J.C." "Stretch" Cunningham

Of Pitcairn, formerly of East Pittsburgh, age 58, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 12, 2023, surrounded by his loving family.

The son of Eula L. (Hall) Cunningham and the late Eddie H. Cunningham. 

Beloved father of Justine Cunningham and John Robert Walter "J.C." Cunningham (Kayla Jaquette).

Proud grandfather of Chaz J. Burr-French

He was the beloved brother of Dereck (Gina) Hall, Deadra Price, Eddie (Cynthia) Cunningham, Karen (Ron) Darden, DeLisa (Mark) Nuckels, Walter Cunningham, Eric Cunningham, and Eric McCloy. 

He was also survived by several nieces, nephews, and close friends.

J.C. graduated from Turtle Creek High School in 1983. Following graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and proudly served his country overseas and stateside for over four years. J.C. developed a talent for electrical and construction work in the greater Pittsburgh area, working independently and for various contractors. J.C. had a passion for fishing and being outdoors. A charming person, J.C. was known for being the "family comedian" or the "life of the party." He cherished the time spent with his family at gatherings. He will forever be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, and brother.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to those who helped care for J.C. over the past several years.

Friends are welcome Saturday from 12- 2:30 p.m. at Patrick T. Lanigan Funeral Home & Crematory 700 Linden Ave. at Cable East Pittsburgh, PA 15112, where a Funeral Service and Presentation of Military Honors will be held Saturday at 2:30 p.m. 

Repass will be held at 4 p.m at Crestas Terrace Fire Station 2304 Crestas Ave, North Versailles, PA 15137.
