Of North Braddock, age 95, passed away on Thursday, February 19, 2026.
Born the daughter of the late Michael and Anna Matsko.
Beloved wife of the late Joseph A. Skinta.
Loving mother of Joseph (Mary Ann) Skinta of FL, John Skinta of North Braddock, Mary Ann Bartek of North Huntingdon, and Laura (James) Howell of North Braddock.
Adored grandmother of Rob (Nicole) Patterson, Jennifer Patterson, Jimmy (Amanda) Howell, Brittany (Rob) Skinta, Alex (Amy) Howell, Joshua (Adrianne) Howell, Brendan (Lynnea) Howell, and the late Andrew Patterson.
Great grandmother of Ryan, James, Alanna, and Emma.
Preceded in death by 4 brothers and 3 sisters.
Also survived by nieces and nephews.
Joan was devout member of Ss. Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church in Braddock. She was proud to have been a lifelong home maker, and treasured the memories raising her family inside her North Braddock home. Joan was also blessed to have been able to see her family grow over the years with 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Friends are welcome on Sunday from 2-7 p.m. at Patrick T. Lanigan Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., Turtle Creek / Monroeville Chapel, 1111 Monroeville Ave., Turtle Creek, 412-823-9350, where a Panachida will be held on Sunday at 6:30 p.m.
A Divine Liturgy will be held on Monday at 10:30 a.m. in Ss. Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church, 431 George St. Braddock, PA.15104.
Joan will be laid to rest in Monongahela Cemetery.
