Obituary of Joan Elaine (Heskin) Connolly

Joan was a lifelong resident of Pitcairn, born on August 2, 1943 in Pitcairn, the daughter of the late Thomas and Bertha Heskin. She died peacefully at her home in Pitcairn on Wednesday, July 2, 2025 at the age of 81.

Joan was the beloved wife of Raymond J. Connolly for 60 years.

She was the loving mother of Maureen (Tom) Hartin, R.J. (Kim) Connolly, Brenna Connolly and Patrick Connolly.

Joan was the cherished grandmother of Aaron, Brooke, and the late Melinda Arnold; T.J. (Marnie), Zack (Emily) and Tyler (Cheyenne) Hartin; Maize (Lillian) and Malachi Connolly, and great-grandmother of J.J. and James.

She is survived also by her sister, Lois Kosoglow and was preceded in death by her brothers, Bill and Richard Heskin and her sisters, Anna Mae, Virginia, Patricia, Linda and Bertha.

Joan was a member of the first Gateway High School graduating class to complete all of their final three years in the high school. She was employed in the cafeteria of Gateway High School for many years and later retired in 2003 from Meerck Pharmaceuticals in North Versailles.

Joan and Ray loved to dance. The enjoyed dancing to the Oldies, Square Dancing and Irish dancing. Joan also loved to travel.

Per Joan’s request, there will not be a viewing or visitation. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.

Joan will be laid to rest in St. Joseph Cemetery/Mausoleum.
