Of Plum, age 73, died at her home on Saturday, April 19, 2025 with her family at her side.
Janice was the beloved and precious wife of Jeffrey Matthews for 42 years.
She was the loving mother of Jennifer Matthews of Allison Park and Jonathan (Marisa) Matthews of Plum.
Janice was proud to be the cherished grandmother of Dominick and Nicolas Sheffo and Bella and Camden Matthews.
She was the sister of Judy (Jim) Homze and the late Ed (surviving spouse, Dorothy) Pegdan.
Janice was a 1969 graduate of North Braddock Scott High School. After graduation she began her career with AT&T and retired as a Technician after 30 years of service. Janice was a member of both the Plum Area Ladies Society (P.A.L.S.) and the AARP #3067 in Plum. Janice also enjoyed the serenity of gardening at her ‘oasis’, which was her term for her backyard.
Her ever-smiling face and pleasant, friendly demeanor will be missed by her family and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in Sacred Heart Church of St. Joseph the Worker Parish on Thursday at 10 a.m.
Janice will be laid to rest in Braddock Catholic Cemetery.
