Janet B. (Bowen) Grove

Of Forest Hills, age 88, died peacefully at home on Wednesday, August 25, 2021.

Beloved wife of the late Wilbur “Bill” Grove for 47 years.

Loving mother of Thomas (Christine) Grove of Penn Twp. and Andrew Grove of Forest Hills.

Stepmother of Linda (Ralph) Yasin of CA.

Dear grandmother of John, Kaitlin and Adam Grove and Rick (Satu) Van Rossem.

Great-grandmother of Christopher and Victoria.

Janet was raised in West Elizabeth and graduated from Clairton High School in 1950. In 1960, she graduated from the West Penn School of Nursing and, for many years, served with Dr. John Scarselatto in his Forest Hills office, before retiring from West Penn Hospital.

Janet was a volunteer gardener at Beulah Presbyterian Church where she was a long-time member, and she volunteered with the Forest Hills Garden Club.

Janet enjoyed knitting and loved to escort her trained therapy dog, Dutch, on regular visits to Sarah Care Adult Day Care in Forest Hills.

Friends are welcome on Friday from 4-7pm at Patrick T. Lanigan Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 700 Linden Avenue at Cable Avenue, East Pittsburgh (412-824-8800) where a Funeral Service will be held on Saturday at 12 noon.

Janet will be laid to rest in Jefferson Memorial Park.

Janet’s family extends deep gratitude to the staff of Visiting Angels, especially Rhonda, Rose and Trish, for the dedicate and kind care they gave to Janet.
