Obituary

Formerly of North Braddock, passed away peacefully at home in Los Angeles, CA, surrounded by the love of her family.

Janet was the loving mom of David; Stacie, (Tony); and always the fun, cherished “Mamma” to Jesse Foster, (Lori); Jordan Foster, (Samantha); Cody Foster, (Kelsey); Richard Foster, and Siena and Lucca Foster-Soltis.

She was also the proud Grand-Mam to Julian, Pella, Ari, Ellia, Drew and Pete.

Janet was preceded in death by her loving husband Richard “Dick” and their sons, Richard “Rick” and Bruce Foster, and her mother, Bessie Rodgers.

Janet was a 1949 graduate of North Braddock Scott High School where she was captain of the cheerleaders and met the love of her life, Dickie Foster.

In addition to her loving role as an amazing mom caring for her family, Janet also worked at Mine Safety, Canadline Brides, and Grand View Golf Club.

In 2016, Janet left her beloved North Braddock to be with her family in California. There, she enjoyed helping out or going to the Senior Center and meeting new friends and sitting by the pool. Even more, she religiously continued to root for the Steelers, (despite how hard it was to get used to their starting on the West Coast at 10 a.m.)  She would get back to Pennsylvania often to attend her Scott High Reunions which she adored. The last one she attended was her 75th.

An amazing cook and baker, she would make thousands of her amazing crullers to share with her friends and at the church fair.

Janet was full of life and always a great dancer, ready to laugh loud and make people laugh. Nothing was more important to her than her family, friends and community. Love you more.
