Jane A. (Sekowski) Shaplye

Of North Braddock, age 79, died peacefully on Saturday, February 7, 2026.

Jane was the beloved wife of John “Alfie” Shaplye for 57 years.

She was the cherished mother of Chris Shaplye and Nick Shaplye, both of North Braddock.

Jane was the treasured grandmother of Kayley (Jeff) McIntosh, Ashley Shaplye, Ryeley Shaplye and Presley Shaplye.

She also was blessed with her great-granddaughter, Vienna McIntosh.

Jane was the sister of the late Raymond (late Rosemary) Sekowski and the late Thomas (late Joyce) Sekowski.

Jane was a 1964 graduate of St. Anselm High School. In her early work career, Jane was a secretary with Mine Safety and later became an employee of Burlington’s .

Jane enjoyed watching old movies, reading, and listening to music. She also found pleasure in the beauty of flowers, and delighted in decorating her home with them, both indoors and outdoors. She also loved to laugh and have fun, especially with the grandkids and she appreciated any time that she could spend with them.

Friends are welcome on Thursday from 3-7pm at Patrick T. Lanigan Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 700 Linden Ave. at Cable, East Pittsburgh, PA 15112, (412) 824-8800 where a Blessing Service will be held at 6:30 p.m.

Jane will be laid to rest privately in Braddock Catholic Cemetery.
