Of Turtle Creek, age 74, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of his family on Tuesday, June 9, 2026.
Born the son of the late Elmer Sr. and Laverne (Shake) Miller, Jan was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Terrie (George) Miller, whose memory he cherished every day.
He was the loving father of Erika (Zac) Keough and Chad (Jamie) Miller. He was the proud and devoted grandfather of Mason and Maxwell Miller, and Cameron and Jordyn Keough.
Jan is also survived by his longtime companion, Susan Emerick, who brought friendship and companionship to his life in later years.
In addition to his parents and wife, Jan was preceded in death by his siblings, Elmer Miller Jr., Mona Joy Pratt, and Maurice “Buck” Miller.
Brother in law of Andrea (Gregg) Palermo and the late Richard (surviving spouse, Cindy) Driscoll.
Also survived by nieces and nephews.
Above all else, Jan’s greatest joy in life was his family, especially his grandchildren. After the passing of his beloved wife, he lovingly stepped in to help care for and watch over all four of his grandchildren, helping to fill the role he knew Terrie would have treasured. They were the center of his world. Whether cheering from the sidelines at a soccer game, attending sporting events, or eagerly waiting for updates when he could no longer be there in person, he never stopped supporting them.
Jan was a 1970 graduate of Turtle Creek High School. He was longtime employee of DHL.
Jan was a simple man who found happiness in life’s greatest treasures—family, sports, and time spent with those he loved. He was known for his generous heart, quiet strength, and unwavering devotion to the people he cared about.
