James M. Pierce also known as Jim but affectionately called "Porky", 72 years old of Eustis, FL and Monroeville, PA, passed away Friday, August 23, 2024. Jim was born in Braddock, and he was a member of the Norwin, PA Elks Lodge #2313 and an associate member of the Eustis Elks Lodge #1578. He was an avid Harley-Davidson Motorcycle enthusiast and a car enthusiast. Jim worked for US Steel, Edgar Thomson Works, as a crane operator for 41 years and was a member of the United Steelworker's Union, Local 1219.
He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years (together for over 40 years), Helen M. (Clinger)Pierce of Eustis, FL and Monroeville, PA; his beloved daughter, Darra (Jay) Hydak of Eustis, FL; 3 brothers, Frank (Sherry) Pierce of Texas, Larry (Sally) Pierce of White Oak, John Pierce of Tampa, FL; his sister, Theresa Pierce of North Braddock; and his grandson, Wayne Hydak (Jess Mainetti) of Mount Dora, FL. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Gloria (Fratecelli) Pierce.
Jim was also fond of his pet canine, Polly.
Friends are welcome to a Memorial Visitation on Wednesday, September 25 from 3-4 pm at Patrick T. Lanigan Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 700 Linden Ave. at Cable, East Pittsburgh, PA 15112, (412) 824-8800 where a Blessing Service will be held at 4 p.m. on Wednesday.
