James F. Novak
Of North Braddock, age 69, on Wednesday, October 26, 2016, loving husband of Barbara “Cookie” (Pesto) for fifty years. The greatest Dad ever to Barbara (Robert) Chismar, of North Huntingdon, JoAnn (James) McVeigh, of North Braddock and Jean (James) Matrazzo, of North Versailles. Most loving and fun Pap to Adam, Alexandra, Kyle and Brock. One of a kind brother to Charles (Deborah) Novak of North Braddock and the late Dianne (surviving spouse Jack Yackovich), of North Braddock. Also, survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Jim retired from U.S. Steel, E.T. Works and Pepsi Cola as a maintenance manager.
Jim was a member of the North Braddock Volunteer Fire Company for fifty years and was awarded Life Time status. He proudly served North Braddock as a Councilman, and as a fire fighter, Borough Chief, Fire Chief, Company Chief and President as well as many other Fire Department positions. He was a member of Good Shepherd Parish. Jim was a Navy Veteran of the Vietnam War and served aboard the U.S.S. Wainright.
Jim could often be found with his friends on the golf course, playing cards, hunting, fishing or gambling at the casino with his wife Cookie. He also spent weekends with friends and family at the Farma Campground
Friends welcome Thursday and Friday 2-8 p.m. at the Patrick T. Lanigan Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 700 Linden Ave. at Cable, East Pittsburgh, 412-824-8800. Mass of Christian Burial in Sacred Heart Church, Good Shepherd Parish, on Saturday at 10 a.m. Military Honors to follow. Fireman Services Friday at 7 p.m.
