Obituary

Of Swissvale, age 76, died on Saturday, April 23, 2022.

Jim was the beloved husband of Regina “Ginger” (Hughes) Mannion for 55 years.

Loving father of Damian (Pamela) Mannion of Evans City, Claire Mannion of Swissvale, Grace Ann (Michael) Bevan of East Huntingdon and Catherine Mannion of Brookline.

Treasured grandfather of Lucy and Michael Bevan and Patrick Mannion.

Dear brother Patrick D.  Mannion of Elizabeth and Patricia (Tony) Zusinas of Moon Twp.

Jimmy was a 1963 graduate of North Braddock Scott High School. He was trained as a winder at Westinghouse in East Pittsburgh and continued in his trade after the plant’s closure by working for Generator Motor Services. In his retirement, Jimmy served as a school crossing guard on Woodstock Avenue in Swissvale.

Jimmy possessed a keen Irish sense of humor and enjoyed sharing it, particularly at the former Acorn Club in Swissvale. He was a very welcoming, accepting person who loved people regardless of differences of opinion or heritage. Jim was a low-handicap golfer and bowled many games at the Swissvale Bowl-a-Rama. He was a staunch Steeler fan, and a favorite pastime was watching sports on television.
