James Glus, age 84, otherwise known as Jim, Dad, Pap, Pappy Jimbo, and most fitting “Saint James” was born and raised in 10th Ward McKeesport, lived in North Versailles for over 40 years, and later in Monroeville, died on Thursday, January 22, 2026.
Beloved husband of the late Anita (Groark) Glus for 54 years.
Father of Jamie Lyn Glus of Yulee, FL, Heather (Michael) Sladky of Medina, OH, and Ryan (Kelly) Glus of Baldwin.
Grandfather of Paige (Kenneth, Jr.) Walker, Brieann Gorski, Marissa Sladky and Rylee Glus. Great-grandfather of Briar Walker and Kameron Walker.
Brother of William Glus of Elizabeth.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Steve and Helen (Mital) Glus, his brothers, Daniel Glus and Joseph Glus and his twin grandsons, Alexander James Sladky and Tyler David Sladky.
After many years of working at Westinghouse, in retirement, Jim loved working at Heinz Field, being a member of the Lions Club of Monroeville and being known as “two beer Jim” at the Irish Club of Monroeville. Other activities he enjoyed were golf, duck pin and 10-pin bowling, and poker with the guys. He loved watching sports and spending time with his children and grandchildren. 143 Dad/Pappy!
Anyone that ever crossed his path would know how special, kind, generous and patient he was. Jim will be dearly missed by his friends and family.
Friends are welcome on Friday, January 30, 2026, from 2:00-8:00 p.m. at Patrick T. Lanigan Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 1111 Monroeville Avenue, Turtle Creek, PA 15145, 412-823-9350.
Mass of Christian Burial in St. John Fisher Church (St. Joseph the Worker Parish), 33 Lewin Lane, Pittsburgh, PA 15235, on Saturday, January 31 at 10 a.m.
Jim will be laid to rest in St. Joseph Cemetery, North Versailles.
