Irene J. "Rene" (Brunner) Winwood

Of Turtle Creek, died surrounded by her family, on Sunday, April 11, 2021, 6 days before her 77th birthday

Beloved wife of the late Thomas W. Winwood.

Loving mother of Ruth Renee Gibson of Manor, Yevette (late John) Grondziowski of Turtle Creek and Sherry Winwood of Turtle Creek and the late Little Tommy Winwood.

Treasured grandmother of Christina Ann Young, Robert (Jackie) Young, John (Tiffany) Grondziowski, Anthony (Caitlin) Grondziowski, Alissya (Chris Zollner) Grondziowski, Cole and Connor Gibson.

Proud great-grandmother and known as “G.G.” to Keara Grondziowski, Landon and Mason Young and Carolina Grondziowski.  

Sister of Pete (late Nancy) Brunner, Roger (Linda) Tucibat, the late Donald (surviving spouse, Laura) Brunner, the late Joann (late Stush) Wessel and the late James (surviving spouse, Kim) Tucibat.

She is also survived by her pet feline, Simba, and many nieces and nephews.

Rene was a retired long-time cashier for Walmart in North Versailles. Her work career coincided with her passion for shopping. A favorite daily pastime was watching “Days of Our Lives”. Above all else, she loved her family and enjoyed any time spent with them, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Friends are welcome to a Memorial Visitation on Friday from 4-7 at Patrick T. Lanigan Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., Turtle Creek / Monroeville Chapel, 1111 Monroeville Ave., Turtle Creek, 412-823-9350 where a Memorial Blessing Service will be held at 7pm on Friday.

Rene will be laid to rest in Grandview Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to the charity of one’s choice.
