Irene A. (Palenchak) Senkow

Age 93, formerly of Braddock and Forest Hills, prior to living with her daughter in Jefferson Hills, was reunited to dancing polkas in heaven with her beloved late husband John “Fatty” Senkow on Sept 13, 2023. John passed away in 2001 after 50 wonderful, magical years of marriage with Irene.

Irene was born in Braddock on October 29, 1929, to the late Jennie (Szczepanski) and John Palenchak.

She was the dearest Mom of John “Jack” (Lisa) of Plum, Keith (Peg) of Colorado, Daryl (Cheri) of Shaler, Michalene “Micki” (Ted) Bargiel of Jefferson Hills, Ron (Marivic) of Hawaii, Richard “Rick” (Amy) of Penn Twp.

Proud Grandma to Keith, Karl, Ken, Kirsten, Christopher, Daniel, Tiffany, Nathan, Jeffrey, Deneen, Craig, Ronald, Alexis, Matthew, Julie, Timothy. Irene has been blessed with 14 Great Grandchildren so far, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Sister of Eugene Palenchak of Braddock, late Edward (surviving spouse Eleanor Culig) Palenchak and late Richard Palenchak.

 Irene was a 1948 graduate of Braddock High School and a lifetime member of Sacred Heart Church in Braddock Hills. She enjoyed traveling, visiting friends, polka music, and most of all dancing. Throughout the years, she made many good friendships and lasting relationships. Irene had a passion for helping others. May her memory continue to inspire acts of kindness and compassion among those who knew and loved her.

Friends are welcome on Sunday from 1-7p.m. at Patrick T. Lanigan Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 700 Linden Ave at Cable Avenue, East Pittsburgh (412-824-8800).

Mass of Christian Burial will be in Sacred Heart Church, Braddock Hills (St. Joseph the Worker Parish) on Monday at 11 a.m.

Irene will be laid to rest in Monongahela Cemetery.
