Obituary of Hugh Daniel McCusker

Of North Braddock, age 73, passed away on Friday, March 14, 2025.

Dan was the beloved husband of Colleen Schwartz McCusker for 40 years.

He was the loving father of Timothy (Jamie Salas) Gumpher, Marie McCusker, Hugh McCusker, Nicole (Jason Garrett) Opielowski, Karie (Nicholas Sobr) McCafferty.

Dan was also the dear grandfather of Tristen, Beya, Timothy Jr., Miranda, Connor, Sophia, Ebin, Journey, Clayton and proud great-grandfather of Holden.

He was the brother of Theresa Ruggeri and Timothy McCusker and was preceded in death by 2 brothers and 2 sisters.

Dan is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Dan enjoyed coin collecting, wood working and, in his younger years, shooting pool at the SNPJ Lodge in Penn Township. Dan served in 82nd Airborne during the Vietnam War.

He loved celebrating St. Patrick’s Day, spending time with his family, and babysitting his grandchildren.

All are welcome to a Memorial Service on Monday, St. Patrick’s Day, March 17th, 2025 at 12 noon at the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church 405 Ridge Ave. East Pittsburgh 15112, with Pastor David Jones officiating.
