Henry R. "Harry" Hissrich

Of Forest Hills, age 92, passed away on Thursday, January 2, 2025.

Born the son of the late Harry Hissrich and the late Agnes (Kost) Hissrich.

Beloved husband of Frances (Gledich) Hissrich for 63 wonderful years.

Loving father of Wendell Hissrich of Squirrel Hill and Michael Hissrich of Studio City, CA.

Adored grandfather of Harry and Ben Hissrich.

Harry is preceded in death by his siblings, Louise Colville, Jean Oskin, and Mary Helen Barryman.

Also survived by nieces and nephews.  

Harry was born and raised in the town of North Braddock and was a graduate of St. Thomas Catholic High School.  He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.  Harry’s dedication to his country was parallelled by his entrepreneurial spirit.  In 1962, he founded Harco Electric on Braddock Ave. and would go on to run the day-to-day operations for over 50 years.  He was a lifelong member of the Monroeville Volunteer Fire Department #5.  Harry was a devout Catholic and longtime member of St. Maurice Church.  While he will be sorely missed by those he leaves behind, the memories of his charismatic and hardworking personality, and selfless nature will live on eternally.  

Friends are welcome on Sunday from 1-4 p.m. at Patrick T. Lanigan Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., Turtle Creek / Monroeville Chapel, 1111 Monroeville Ave., Turtle Creek, 412-823-9350.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday at 10 a.m. in St. Maurice Church of St. Joseph the Worker Parish.

Harry will be laid to rest with Military Honors in Monongahela Cemetery.
