Of White Oak, age 81, died peacefully on Friday, November 28, 2025.
Helen was one of 10 children of Joseph and Helen (Pall) Polefko.
She is survived by her sister, Shirley Brietkreutz of Whitaker and her brother James (late Kathy) Polefko of Munhall.
She was preceded in death by her sisters, Mary Louise Shimel, Elizabeth Yurick, Rose Marie Pawlowski, Alice Nimrichter and Geraldine Jacko and her brothers, Joseph and John Polefko.
Helen is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Helen was a retired custodian of the West Mifflin School District where she worked for over 30 years. She is recalled as the ‘fun aunt’ as she didn’t have her own children and relished spending time with her nieces and nephews. In their youth, Helen would take them to play ball, visit Round Hill Park, and buy them candy and ice cream. She was also known to be very opinionated and not have much of a filter when giving her views. Helen’s favorite pastimes were buying scratch off tickets and enjoying a good game of bingo.
