Of Forest Hills, age 94, died on Tuesday, July 29, 2025.
Hazel was the beloved wife of the late Peter N. Carolas for 27 years.
She was the precious mother of Olympia (Jeff) Harry of Forest Hills, Frank (Joyce) Carolas of Mercer and the late Niki who died at the age of 2.
Hazel was the loving Yia Yia of Luke (Carly) Harry, Jacob Harry, Melissa (David) D’Angelo and Peter (June) Carolas.
She was the precious Great-Yia Yia of Quinn, Ivy and Hazel Harry; Willow and Copelin Harry; Isaiah, Joshua and Caleb D’Angelo.
Hazel was a loving aunt to all of her nieces and nephews and cared deeply for her cousins and extended family.
Hazel was preceded in death by her brothers, Thomas Hagepanos and Gus “Asi” Hagepanos.
Before retiring, Hazel was employed at the Apple Cookie Co. for many years.
Hazel had 2 deep loves in her life: her family and her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She loved to cook and bake and host family dinners. Hazel has said “I have loved The Lord and I am thankful and grateful for the years given to me and my hope is that all of my family and friends look to The Lord”.
Friends are welcome on Sunday from 2-6pm at Patrick T. Lanigan Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 1111 Monroeville Ave., Turtle Creek, PA 15145, (412) 823-9350.
The Funeral Service will be held at Greater Works Church, 301 College Park Dr., Monroeville, PA 15146 on Monday at 11 a.m. Additional viewing in Church ½ hour prior to the Service.
Hazel will be laid to rest in Monongahela Cemetery in North Braddock.
