Geraldine DeMeo Obituary

Lifelong resident of Turtle Creek, age 95, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 15, 2024.

Born the daughter of the late Charles Vogan and the late Mae (Norton) Vogan.

Beloved wife of the late Carmine J. DeMeo, Sr.

Loving mother of Madeline (Robert) Pedley of Aiken, S.C.

Cherished grandmother of Lauren (Chris) Klein, Robert (Robbin) Pedley, John B. “J.B.” McLaughlin, and Ryan (Joeleen) Pedley.

Adored great grandmother of Alex, Aidan, Julia, Jacob, Ella, and Madison.

Preceded in death by her daughter, Geraldine (surviving spouse, John) McLaughlin; her brother, Carmine J. DeMeo, Jr.; and her 5 siblings.

Also survived by nieces and nephews.

Gerry was a graduate of Turtle Creek High School and was a devout member of St. Colman Church in Turtle Creek.  Gerry's interests were a reflection of her warm and social nature. She was an avid Bingo and card player, always finding joy and camaraderie in these simple pleasures.  Her volunteer work with the Southwest Veterans Center spoke to her generous heart.  A survivor of Breast Cancer herself, Gerry also volunteered for the Forbes Cancer Rehab, where she would prepare gifts and spend time motivating those fighting the disease. Traveling alongside her family was another passion of Gerry's.  Most of all, Gerry treasured spending time with her family, whom she held as life’s greatest prize.

There will be no visitation.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday at 12 Noon in St. Colman Church of St. Joseph the Worker Parish.

Gerry will be laid to rest in Good Shepherd Cemetery.

The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the caring staff at Juniper Village in Monroeville.

Friends and family have shared their relationship to show their support.
