Jerry was proud to have been born and raised in the town of Turtle Creek and was a 1954 graduate of Turtle Creek High School. He then honorably served his country as a member of the U.S. Army.  Following his discharge from the Army, through the G.I. Bill, Jerry enrolled in the Pittsburgh Art Institute.

Jerry was employed with Mesta Machine for over 24 years until the closure of the business.  He then relocated to Cleaveland Price in Trafford, and eventually Brickmont in Southpointe, where he continued his work as a design craftsman.  He was also employed with Home Depot for 10 years, specializing in the designing of home kitchens.

One of Jerry’s passions was expressing his emotions through singing.  He was a skilled tenor and a member of the Irwin Male Chorus for over 30 years.  Jerry also had a knack for craftsmanship.  He was a talented artist who produced sketches, paintings, designs, several of which were published in books.  Some of Jerry’s most fond memories were those from his childhood home, where he learned how to dance from his siblings.
