George Gary Hartford

Of N. Huntingdon, age 72, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, November 6, 2024.

Born on February 22, 1952, in Braddock, PA to the late Charles Hartford and the late Florence (Pavlik) Hartford.

George Gary Hartford was a devoted father to his daughter, Roseangela Graziana Hartford. Gary was preceded in death by his brother Chuck Hartford (surviving spouse, Denny Lou). He was a proud uncle, supportive cousin, and unwavering friend. He graduated from St. Thomas High School in 1970 and continued exploring his passions through community college. As a proud member of the Italian Sons and Daughters of America (ISDA) Forest Hills Lodge #224 and the 15104 Club, he filled the room with memories of his childhood in Braddock and wholehearted laughter. Gary was deeply committed to his work throughout his life with his final position being a Maintenance Supervisor at Community Human Services.

Gary was infamously the first one on the dance floor. He nurtured his singing talents throughout his life with honorable mention to his time performing in California. To his family, his generosity with time, love, and energy was limitless. Gary loved to create and write music with inspiration drawn from his idols: Frank Sinatra, Stevie Wonder, and Michael Jackson. Above all, he championed his daughter through every obstacle and success. He is fondly remembered as a fearless rescuer of rabbits and birds, an inspiring coach in softball and life, and brilliant visionary for a peaceful world. He held creative gifts that were beyond his time, and instilled a sense of wonder that will live on forever.

Friends and loved ones will be received on Sunday, November 10th from 1-6 p.m. at PATRICK T. LANIGAN FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, INC., 700 Linden Ave, East Pittsburgh, PA 15112, (412) 824-8800.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, November 11th at 11 a.m. in Good Shepherd Church of St. Joseph the Worker Parish, located in Braddock.
