Of Turtle Creek, age 81, died on Friday, January 16, 2026.
Fred was the beloved husband of Virginia J. “Jane” (Reid) Link for 60 years.
He was the loving father of Frederick W. (Christina) Link of Bradenville and Sheila (Matthew) Croft of the North Side Pittsburgh.
Fred was the proud grandfather of Frederick O. (Ashley) Link, Keith J. (Paige) Link, Antonio S. (Sarah) Link, Mason F. Link, Norbert J. Moss, Shayla M. Moss, Austin Davis and Ryan (Emily) Davis.
Fred is also survived by 3 great-grandchildren, Taylor Elizabeth Link, Mya Link and Avery Link.
Fred was the last surviving of 10 siblings who were raised in Cresson, PA.
Fred was a 1962 graduate of Cresson High School. Upon coming to Pittsburgh, he pursued his career in the building maintenance profession. Originally, he worked for the Wilkinsburg School District and then became employed with Amore Realty to service their real estate properties. After years with Amore he continued his work at Brinton Manor in Braddock Hills and lastly at Highland House in Highland Park.
For relaxation, Fred enjoyed fishing in Pennsylvania streams and lakes and was keen on fishing at Chesapeake Bay.
All are welcome on Thursday, January 22, from 4-8pm at Patrick T. Lanigan Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., Turtle Creek / Monroeville Chapel, 1111 Monroeville Ave., Turtle Creek, 412-823-9350.
Mass of Christian Burial will be in St. Maurice Church on Ardmore Blvd., Forest Hills (St. Joseph the Worker Parish) on Friday at 10 A.M.
