Francis A. Turcovsky

Of Turtle Creek, age 93, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 6, 2020.

Beloved husband of the late Rita Turcovsky for 53 years.

Loving father of Melanie Altmeyer of Penn Hills, Tom (Tina) Turcovsky of North Huntingdon, Lisa (John "B") Babjak of Monroeville and the late Larry Turcovsky.

Dear grandfather of Ryan, Autumn and Erin Altmeyer; Tommy, Kyle and Kevin Turcovsky; Erik Snyder, Ashley, Colleen and Alexis Babjak.

Great-grandfather of Nevaeh, Elizabeth and Tyler Altmeyer, Dena Luzier and Roman Franklin.

Also survived by numerous cousins. 

Preceded in death by his parents, Otto and Anna Wannagat, and his brothers, Andrew and Lawrence Turcovsky.

Frank was a U.S. Army Veteran who served his country during World War II.  He proudly worked as a mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service for 26 years, where he earned the Million Mile Safety Award and scored the highest on his postal exam at that time.  Frank enjoyed watching westerns, college basketball and golf.  He was a life-long member of St. Colman Church and a member of the Sub-Alpina Society in Turtle Creek, the East Pittsburgh Moose and the American Legion Post 701 in White Oak.  Some of Frank’s more fond memories were going to dances with his sweetheart, Rita, at Kennywood and creating coin books for all of his grandchildren.  Frank was forever proud to proclaim three things… That he had 10 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and that he would try his hardest to live to 111.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, 11 a.m. in St. Colman Church of St. Joseph the Worker Parish.  The mass will be streamed live on the funeral home Facebook page, please visit our website for directions.

Frank will be laid to rest with Military Honors in St. Joseph Cemetery.
