Evelyn M. (DiTomasso) Woodward

Of Wilkins Township, age 80, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by family on Tuesday, March 14, 2023. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Wilmer; her children, Donna (Larry) Myers and Richard (Stacy) Woodward; her grandchildren, Amanda, Amber, and Anthony; and her sister, Lucy (Richard) Rouggie.

Evelyn was born the youngest of 10 siblings to Italian immigrants, the late Giovanni and the late Louisa DiTomasso.

Preceded in death by siblings; Tony (Rosalie), Albert, Joe (Jenny), Eleanor (Oscar) Masci, Elizabeth (August) Heide, Ann (Albert) Churma, Grace (Edward) Spara, and Janet (Lantz) Buccella - born to Italian immigrants Giovanni and Louisa DiTomasso.

Evelyn was a doting grandmother who showered her grandchildren with love and affection. Evelyn hosted dinner at her house nearly every Sunday; Italian food, stories, and laughs were always shared. The kitchen was the heart of the home because she was in it, cooking up delicious dishes. Evelyn was head housekeeper for Frances and Charles Cost in Churchill for 35 years before retiring in 2022.

She was a fixture at family reunions in Indianola and loved spending time with her sisters. They enjoyed shopping and chatting about memories they had growing up together in a chaotic, Italian household.

Friends are welcome Thursday from 2-8 p.m. at Patrick T. Lanigan Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., Turtle Creek / Monroeville Chapel, 1111 Monroeville Ave., Turtle Creek, 412-823-9350.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday at 10 a.m. in St. Colman Church of St. Joseph the Worker Parish.

Evelyn will be laid to rest in Good Shepherd Cemetery.
