Eugene "Shorty" J. Yasofsky

Of Monroeville, age 88, died on Thursday, May 4, 2023.

Beloved husband of the late Pauline S. (Dougherty) Yasofsky of 48 years.

Dear father of Joe Yasofsky of Monroeville, and Paula (John) Gage of Wilkins Twp.

Brother of Dolores (Bill) Cuda of Level Green, Joan (Tom) Mozza of North Huntingdon, Jean (Ed) Trax of North Huntingdon, and Ron (Rose) Yasofsky of Delmont. Preceded in death by siblings: Mike (the late Martha), Patty, and Tood (the late Jack).

Eugene is a proud Air Force Veteran. He honorably served during the Korean War. Eugene is a former employee of Homestead Electric and Machine Company. He also worked at Reynoldsville Casket Company of greater Pittsburgh and at the Community Food Bank. Eugene enjoyed gardening and fishing in his free time.

Friends welcome Monday 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the Patrick T. Lanigan Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., Turtle Creek / Monroeville Chapel, 1111 Monroeville Ave., Turtle Creek, 412-823-9350. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday 12:00 p.m. at St. Colman Church of St. Joseph the Worker Parish.

Eugene will be laid to rest at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies on Wednesday at 2:30 p.m.
