On Friday, June 11, 2021, another angel was welcomed into heaven as Ellen was greeted by her husband and 2 sons. She died peacefully at her Forest Hills home in the care of her family.

Dear grandmother of Brian (Heather) DePalma, Gina (Jeff) Walter, Eric (fiancé, Brandy Aiello) and Tennyson Switzer.
Proud great-grandmother of Cameron and Kaci DePalma, Logan and McKenna Walter, Mayliana DePalma and Ava Dailey.
Ellen was preceded in death by her brothers, William and Leslie Strohm and her sister, Gloria English.
Ellen was a retired administrative assistant with Carnegie-Mellon University. She had been a volunteer ‘baby rocker’ at Magee Hospital and also volunteered as an instructor of computer skills to the homeless. Spoiling her bulldogs and taking them to Frick Park to hang out with friends was always a delight for Ellen. Over the years she appreciated being a member of the Wilkins Elks. Above all else, her favorite pastime was any time spent with her family members who she loved with deep devotion.

Mass of Christian Burial will be in St. Maurice Church of St. Joseph the Worker Parish on Tuesday at 11 a.m.
Ellen will be laid to rest privately in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
