Effie M. (Krystallis) Kazakos

Of Penn Hills, age 89, passed away on Thursday, June 4, 2026.

Born on December 13, 1936, in Ambridge, PA, the daughter of the late George Krystallis and the late Olga (Skepanski) Krystallis. 

Beloved wife of the late Christ Kazakos for 58 wonderful years.

Loving mother of Ann (Michael Duggan) Kazakos of Penn Yan, NY, George (Paula) Kazakos of York, PA, and Christine (Belinda Williams) Elam of West Union, SC.

Adored grandmother of Alexis and Nicholas Duggan, Ashley and Lori Kazakos, and Lindsey and James Elam.

Effie was a proud member of the Presentation of Christ Greek Orthodox Church (Ypapanti) and was an active member of the Y.A.S.O.U. group, where she took various trips alongside her soul mate, Christ.  Additionally, she had heart for volunteerism at the church and was especially helpful during the annual Greek Food Festival.  Effie was an avid reader and was a member of several book clubs.  In her early years, she was employed in the accounting department for PPG Industries.  Most of all, Effie cherished time spent with her children and grandchildren.   

Friends are welcome on Wednesday from 10 a.m. – 11a.m. at Presentation of Christ Greek Orthodox Church (Ypapanti), where a Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m.

Effie will be laid to rest in Monongahela Cemetery.
