Edith Y. "Bonnie" Wilson Obituary

Of North Huntingdon, formerly of North Braddock, age 85, died at her home in the midst of her loving family, on Sunday, February 4, 2024.  

Bonnie was the beloved spouse of the late Lloyd Wilson for 56 years.

She was the loving mother of Lloyd “Dekie” (Deborah) Wilson of Johnstown, Jennifer (Robert) Skaris of Bethel Park, Angela (Rick) Connelly of North Huntingdon and the late Cindy (surviving spouse, Denny) Hess.

Precious grandmother of Eric (Linda) Hess, Derek (Kelly) Hess, Casey Wilson, Madison and Alex Skaris.

Great-grandmother of Lily and Adelina Hess.

Bonnie was the sister of Nancy (late Chris) Alfer, Linda (late Bill) Ziter, Debbie (Ed) Hanlon, Barbara (late Martin) Frederick and the late Frank Eddy.

She was also survived by many nieces and nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews; and cousins, including her special cousin, Patty Blanco.

Bonnie was a retired florist and worked most of her career with Shackelford and Maxwell Florists at their Braddock Hills and Forest Hills stores. In her retirement she continued to express her love of nature’s beauty by tending to her indoor plants and outside gardens. She also enjoyed caring for her many pets over the years. Bonnie was fond of angel figurines and statues and accumulated an exceptional collection of them.

Friends are welcome on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8pm at Patrick T. Lanigan Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., Turtle Creek / Monroeville Chapel, 1111 Monroeville Ave., Turtle Creek, 412-823-9350.
Mass of Christian Burial will be in Good Shepherd Church, Braddock (St. Joseph the Worker Parish) on Wednesday at 10 a.m.

Bonnie will be laid to rest in Penn Lincoln Cemetery.

Bonnie’s family expresses heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Bridges Hospice for their attentive care of Bonnie.
