Dr. Ronald Joseph Speranza, formerly of Forest Hills and Level Green, passed away suddenly on November 14, 2021 at the age of 62 at his second home in Naples, Florida.
Ron is survived by his loving wife Carolyn (Krusinski) Speranza; daughter Lauren Speranza and son-in-law Chris Mondloch; daughter Leslie Speranza; dog Gigi; sister Angela (late Mark) O’Toole; brother Robert Speranza and sister-in-law Kim Speranza; and many beloved in-laws and nieces and nephews.
Ron was born Dec. 12, 1958, in Pittsburgh, PA to Peter and Mary Speranza (both deceased). He earned a bachelor’s degree in Biology and Chemistry with a minor in Mathematics and US History; a master’s degree in Infectious Disease Microbiology; and a Doctor of Dental Medicine from the University of Pittsburgh. He started and ran a successful dental practice in Wilkins Township with his wife and business partner, Carolyn, for 25 years. A lifelong learner, he was dedicated to expanding his skills from general dentistry to full-mouth reconstruction and taking care of his beloved patients.
Ron was an active member of his community, as a member of the Churchill Rotary, certified self-defense instructor for Defense Training International, and a member of the American and Pennsylvania Dental Associations. He was an engineer at heart, working as a car mechanic in his youth, alongside his father and brother at Pemar Auto Repair. Ron loved doing home improvement projects. He was a vivid storyteller with a big brain and even bigger heart. Ron had a passion for good (especially, Italian) food and good company. He brought enormous enthusiasm and positivity to everyone and everything he encountered. A dedicated husband and father, he loved his family more than anything. He will be dearly missed.
