It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dr. Richard S. Sepesy Sr. at his home in Monroeville. He died on Sunday, September 10, 2023. Richard, 92, was born on March 12, 1931 to Joseph E. and Mary (Lukas) Sepesy in Braddock, PA. He attended St. Vincent Prep School in Latrobe (class of ’48) and St. Vincent College (class of ‘52). Richard enlisted in the Army after graduation and spent 15 months in Korea as a cryptographer. He married Norine DiLucente of Rankin in 1953 and went on to attend the University of Pittsburgh Dental School, graduating with class of 1960. Richard started his private dental practice in Braddock.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Joseph R., and his grandson Christian Richard Klorczyk. He is survived by Norine, his beloved wife of 70 years, children Lynne (Frederick) Klorczyk, Dr. Richard Sepesy Jr (Kathy), and Janette (Bob) Regola. Grandchildren included Frederick J. III (Victoria) Klorczyk, Parker Klorczyk; Christopher (Sarah) Sepesy, Rachel (Joe) Glinski, and Eric (Samantha) Sepesy; Robert (Bridget) Regola IV, John (Lauren) Regola, and Marlena (Branden) Ewing. He is also survived by 11 great grandchildren.
Dentistry was his passion for 59 years, and his son joined him in the dental practice in Monroeville. They retired together in 2021. Richard was also an avid photographer and gardener, and was awarded Gardener of the Year in 2001 by the Men’s Garden Club. He also received an alumnus of distinction award from St. Vincent College in August of 2019. The family would like to express their great appreciation to all of his caregivers for the wonderful care provided over the last few years.

Mass of Christian Burial will be in St. Bernadette Church (Christ the Divine Shepherd Parish) 245 Azalea Dr., Monroeville, 15146 on Thursday, September 21st at 11 a.m.
Richard will be laid to rest with Military Honors in Restland Memorial Cemetery in Monroeville
