Dottye J. Wilson

Dottye J. Wilson, of North Versailles, age 73, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 14, 2023. Born on September 4, 1950 in Braddock daughter of the late Christopher Wilson and the late Dorothy (Copenhaver) Wilson.

She was the cherished sister of Fred Wilson.  She is preceded in death by siblings; Lloyd Wilson, Bettie Lou Napolitano, Floyd "Sonny" Wilson, Dannie Wilson, and Dexter Wilson.

Dottye was the cherished aunt of Tina (Paul) Borgony.  She was also a dear sister-in-law to Bonnie Wilson and Mary "Toodie" Wilson. Dottye is also survived by 15 nieces and nephews, 17 great nieces and nephews, and 8 great-great nieces and nephews.  Her family members remember her as a beacon of positivity and love, always ready with a warm smile and a kind word.

Dottye was a long-time resident of the Milestone I.D.D. Residential Program in North Versailles. There, she made a home for herself and formed many close relationships with both the staff and her fellow residents.  She was especially close to her roommates, Karen Elm and Karen Soflak.

 
Dottye also attended the New Horizons Day Program in Penn Hills. There, she made many close friends and was an active participant in the program's activities. Her friendly nature and warm heart made her a beloved member of the New Horizons community.

Dottye had a deep love for music, particularly the classic rock oldies of the 50's and 60's. Her love for these timeless tunes was infectious, and she often shared her favorite songs with those around her. Despite the challenges she faced, Dottye always maintained a bright outlook on life. Her resilience and positivity were an inspiration to all who knew her.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. in St. Colman Church of St. Joseph the Worker Parish.

Dottye will be laid to rest in Jefferson Memorial Park.
