Donald Pruchnitzky Obituary

Of Plum, originally from North Braddock, age 65, died on Monday, January 12, 2026.

Don was the beloved fiance’ of Dina Litzinger.

He was the loving father of Jesse Pruchnitzky of North Braddock and Crystal Pruchnitzky of Pittsburgh.

Don was the treasured son of Donald “Dumbo” Pruchnitzky and the late Nora “Sis” Theresa (Nee) Pruchnitzky.

Don is also survived by Dina’s children: Brandon (Jennifer) Litzinger, Taylor (Hamilton) Rodkey and Michaela Litzinger, and grandchildren, Sienna Litzinger and Stella Rodkey.

He was the brother of Lisa Funyak of Delmont and the late Michael (surviving spouse, Carol) Pruchnitzky and the late Terry (late Scott) Albert.

Donny was also a precious uncle of several nephews and nieces.

Don was a 1978 graduate of General Braddock High School. He was employed for many years as a Utility Operator with Ashland Chemical on Neville Island.

As a younger man, Don found time to be a volunteer firefighter and paramedic with the North Braddock Volunteer Fire Company.

He also was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying fishing and hunting while at his family cabin in Pymatuning and also fishing Lake Erie with his Dad’s boat.

Donny was particular in tending his flower garden and he loved to grill and cook and found great joy in bringing people together by sharing in all of his passions.

Donny was truly a special man, one-of-a-kind, to everyone who knew him. He loved his family deeply and had a remarkable way of making others feel like family. Don was profoundly loved and was known to be the bright light in any room he entered as he caused it to be filled with laughter. He was kind, outgoing, and could strike up a conversation with anyone, forming genuine connections wherever he went.

Don’s family takes comfort in knowing that Jesus welcomes Donny into his home where he is joyfully reunited with his Mom and his siblings, surrounded by peace and everlasting love.
