Of Manor, formerly of Robinson and Braddock, age 71, passed away on Sunday, January 3, 2021, after a long and courageous fight with Prostate Cancer.
Born the son of the late Vincenzo “Jimmy” and the late Mamie Martelli
Beloved husband of Debra (Supan) Martelli for 23 wonderful years.
Loving father of Anthony (Heather) Martelli of NC and Michelle (Toby III) George of N. Huntingdon.
Adored grandfather of Mia, Ava, and Dominic Martelli and Toby IV, Harper, and Haley George.
Cherished brother of Flora (the late John) Dihtzeruk, Louise (the late Michael “King”) Gambino, Joseph (Lorraine) Martelli, and Vincent (Donna Birdsong) Martelli.
Preceded in death by sisters; Anna Marie Potocnik, Stella Martelli, and Delores (surviving spouse Robert) Hornyak.
Dear friend of Lee and Rick Nugara.
Also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Dom was a proud 1968 graduate of Braddock High School. While in school, Dom was a four-year letterman in football and played on both offense and defense. During his senior year, while serving as his teams captain, he was awarded the WPIAL Most Valuable Player of the Year. After graduating, he went on to attend Oklahoma Panhandle State University where he received a Bachelors Degree in Industrial Arts. Following college, he was hired by Westinghouse Corporation and was employed by them and Eaton Corporation for 43 years before retiring in 2015. He was a faithful member of Calvary Church in Irwin and was passionate about leading others to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Dom was a member of the 15104 Club and was a longtime coach for Gateway Midget football, where he enjoyed giving back to the game he loved so much. Dom enjoyed making his own soppressatsa, cooking, fishing, and most of all he treasured the time spent with his family, especially his loving grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
