Diane D. (Tomasic) Hardek

A fierce and brave warrior is taking an eternal rest.  Diane Hardek, 76 of Lower Burrell formerly of Penn Hills, fought a long 8 year battle with several rare and complex medical conditions.  Through her endless determination and sheer will to continue living a life she loved, she beat all odds for her prognosis.  Helping her in the fight were the countless blood transfusions that she received from the generosity of strangers. Diane also beat the odds at the casino.  She would be found at the red, white, and blue triple seven machine, always hooting and hollering when she won.  If her friends weren’t as lucky, she never hesitated to share her winnings. It was important to her that everyone have a good time, which is why she never missed a good party. She would be the first on the dance floor and the last to leave.  Not even an early tee-time could keep her from a late night, which was just an opportunity to spend time celebrating life with those she loved. 

Diane left her family with the priceless lesson that hope is immensely powerful and should never be lost. (And that you should always buy your scratch off tickets with money you won from other scratch off tickets – it’s luckier that way!)

Diane will be looking down and sending luck to her loving husband of 56 years Charles Hardek, daughter Amy Drevna (Mick) and son Mark (Erin) Hardek, grandchildren Tyler and Connor Hardek, Victoria Drevna, Kristen Drevna (Mike Prado), and Andrea Lutz (Jon), great -granddaughter Hailey and brother John Tomasic. She was met in heaven by her parents Andrew and Katherine Tomasic and her brother George Tomasic.

A private celebration of life will be held to honor Diane. If you would like to honor her memory, please consider donating blood.
