A lifelong resident of Wall, PA, age 79, passed away unexpectedly but peacefully on Saturday, February 21, 2026.
Dennis was the beloved husband of Sandra (Gulentz) Dopirak for 49 years.
He was the loving father of Richard Runkle of Wall, Theresa “Tracy” Balaschak of Turtle Creek and Brianne (Eric) Tupper of Dormont.
Dennis was the cherished grandfather of Ashley (Adam Knox) Balaschak, Austin (Bailee Gregor) Balaschak, Analise Balaschak, Rowan Tupper, Lily Tupper and Finn Runkle.
He was pleased to be the great-grandfather of Vinnie Bongiorno.
Dennis also survived by his sister, Carol (Wayne) Neissel of AZ. and also many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul Francis and Agnes Stephanie (Sorokas) Dopirak and his brother, Francis Dopirak.
Dennis lived his entire life in his Wall family home. He was born on January 31, 1947, and was a 1965 graduate of Westinghouse Memorial High School. Dennis was employed as a machinist at Christie Park Steel Co. in McKeesport and later worked for Radform Tool and Dye before training to become a Pennsylvania State Constable. He served PA for 38 years as a constable and he served his community of Wall as a councilman for many years. Dennis was a beloved member of his community and always was willing to help family, friends, neighbors and colleagues.
Denny was an avid baseball fan and cherished his memories of visiting Forbes Field for games. He collected Pirates memorabilia and proudly coached Little League for many years. Denny enjoyed collecting model trains and would create spectacular train displays for the holidays to bring enjoyment to his family and friends. Whenever he was on vacation, he delighted in visiting any Bucc-ee’s and savoring their coffee. Denny was a lover of music and was always excited to listen to his favorite musicians with family. Some of his favorites were Heart, Chicago and ZZ Top.
Dennis was proud of his Slovak heritage and relished traditional Slovak meals and traditions that were passed down to him by his parents.
