Denise Diane (Pavlik) Nolen

Of Turtle Creek and North Irwin, age 73, passed away peacefully on January 8, 2025.  Daughter of the late Cyril and Alberta Pavlik; beloved wife of Michael James Nolen for 53 years; sister to Jeffrey Pavlik; loving mother of Brian (Leah) Nolen and Lani (Matthew) Livingstone; devoted grandmother of James, Jemma, Owen and Conner; beloved aunt to Amy, Kelley, Shawn, Jill, Megan and Erin.  She will be dearly missed by her several loving great-nieces and many friends and extended family. 

Denise spent her formative years in Turtle Creek where she grew up and later raised her family. A 1969 graduate of Turtle Creek High School, Denise remained a beloved member of the Turtle Creek community who found her greatest joy in the company of her family. 

She extended her community outreach as a Teacher’s Aide in the Woodland Hills School District, mostly in the Benjamin Fairless School.

Denise was a masterful cook, a craft she inherited from her mother.  She was an unrelenting friend to many, caring for several of her closest friends who preceded her in death.  She greatly enjoyed the theatre, particularly Broadway musicals.  Denise enjoyed nothing more than spending time with her grandchildren, the light of her life, who will miss her dearly and remember her fondly.   She spent her retirement years in North Irwin, in the company of Michael and their dear companions Murphy and Pearl. 

Friends are welcome on Sunday from 1-5pm at the Patrick T. Lanigan Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., Turtle Creek/Monroeville Chapel, 1111 Monroeville Ave., Turtle Creek, PA 15145, (412) 823-9350 where a Blessing Service will be held on Monday at 10 a.m.
