Denise Marie (McGowan) Gallick

Denise Marie (McGowan) Gallick was born May 28, 1951, and passed away peacefully following an illness on February 9, 2026 with her loving husband of 47 years and daughters by her side.  Born in Lawrenceville and a graduate of Peabody High School, she was a long-time resident of both East Pittsburgh and Wilmerding.  Denise is survived by her loving husband, Leonard, and two daughters, Jennifer (Phillip) Gallick and Sarah Robertson.

Denise was also Maw Maw to Christian (JoJo) Gallick, Noah (Doodles) Adams, Samantha (Sammie) Adams and Kira (Bird) Robertson.  Survived as well by sister, Judi Brakalov and brother, Joseph (Janet) McGowan, Jr, as well as a number of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews whom she loved dearly and spoke of often.

Preceded in death by her parents Loretta and Joseph McGowan, and sister, Lorraine Boberg and Sandra Montgomery.

Denise was always a very giving person.  Always thinking of others, even as she went through her own struggles.  She enjoyed spending time with family and crafts (lots of crafts). We once thought we found Jimmy Hoffa in her craft room! Nope. They were craft items she forgot she bought. She loved craft shows and shopping. (We should have had stock in Joann’s and Pat Catan’s).

Denise enjoyed any day out and about whether it was with Leonard, Jennifer, Sarah or her sisters, she was always ready to go.

But her greatest love was always her grandbabies. She loved being a Maw Maw and was always proud of their accomplishments, no matter how big or small.

Denise will forever be in our hearts.
