Daniel R. "Danny" Petrovay

Of Level Green, formerly of North Braddock, age 70, passed away on Monday, February 23, 2026, following a courageous fight with cancer.

Born the son of the late Edward Petrovay and the late Geraldine (the late Harris) Valt.

Loving husband of Beverly A. (Kerestes) Petrovay for 36 wonderful years.

Loving father of Daniel Joseph “D.J.” (Callie) Petrovay of Washington State and Afton Petrovay of Level Green.

Adored grandfather of Brynn Rose Petrovay.

Dear brother of Edward “Pete” (Mary Thomas) Petrovay, David (Ron) Petrovay, and Betsy (the late John) Kelley.

Also survived by nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and his dog and friend, Beau.

Danny was a 1973 graduate of St. Thomas High School, where he excelled as an athlete playing baseball.  He was employed for over 40 years in the environmental industry as a project manager for several companies throughout the city of Pittsburgh.  Danny retired in 2025 from Chubb in downtown Pittsburgh.  Danny was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Pirates, and Penguins.  He enjoyed spending time camping and fishing, especially in Elk County.  Danny was a classic car enthusiast and loved attending car cruises and shows, and watching races and auctions on television.  Danny often attended concerts, and he cherished the days spent on the golf course with many of his lifelong friends from North Braddock.  His most fond memories were those shared with his family, who he loved more than anything.    

Friends are welcome to a Memorial Visitation on Friday from 3-7 p.m. at Patrick T. Lanigan Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 700 Linden Ave. at Cable, East Pittsburgh, PA 15112, (412) 824-8800, where a Blessing Service will be held on Friday at 7 p.m.
