Daniel "Dan" A. Marasco

Daniel Anthony Marasco, affectionately known to family and friends as "Dan," of Pittsburgh, lost his battle with depression on Monday, October 9, 2023, a day shy of his 44th birthday.

Dan was the light of so many lives and always saw the beauty in the world around him.

He was an adored and beloved son of both Jackie (Terry Smith) Schlegel of Turtle Creek and Drew (Judy Kanchy) Ulyas of North Versailles.

A loving brother of David (Jamilee) Marasco of Moon and Justine (Michael) Fecik of Harrison City.

He was a treasured uncle, always up for adventures and shenanigans, with his many nieces and nephews: Reilley, Mackenzie, Payton, Jordyn, Gabby, Michael, Beckham, Harbor, and Quinn. Dan was always prideful of the time he spent with each of them, especially the time spent "shredding the gnar" on their bikes, which was one of his fondest hobbies.

Cherished cousin and confidant of Tracy Woehler of Delmont and Scott (Jenny) Cole of Delmont. Along with their mother, his dearest aunt, the late Mary Elaine “Mike” Cole. 

Devoted grandson of Lael and the late Russell Marasco of Monroeville.

Dan attended Franklin Regional High School with the class of '97. Daniel was always forging his own path, pushing limits, and had a love for the outdoors and any new adventure. He was a passionate traveler with a love for exploration that took him to the far reaches of the globe. From the bustling streets of China to the vast landscapes of Europe, he embraced the diversity of cultures, cuisines, and experiences that came his way. In addition to traveling, Dan had an amazing talent for capturing his adventures through his photography. Always illuminating the beauty of the world around him and sharing it with his family and friends so they could embrace all the world has to offer. We find comfort in knowing that Dan's best buddy, Goober, was awaiting his arrival; new adventures ahead!

There will be no visitation or funeral.  Friends are welcome for a Celebration of Life, hosted by Dan's family and his dearest childhood friend, Lizzie, at Joey's The Edge, 5904 Washington Avenue, Export, PA  15632, on Sunday, October 22, 2023 from 12:00 until 4:00pm.  We hope you can join us to celebrate our beautiful Daniel.
