Daniel Canobbio Obituary

Daniel J. "Danny Boy" Canobbio, of Penn Township, a beacon of joy and love, passed away on Tuesday, January 30, 2024, at the tender age of two. Born on May 9, 2021, to his adoring parents, Geno L. Canobbio and Maia F. (Harbaugh) Canobbio, Danny was a cherished soul whose life, though brief, was marked by an infectious enthusiasm and a gentle spirit that touched all who knew him.

Danny's grandparents, Larry and Denise Canobbio, Jim and Lisa Harbaugh, along with his great-grandparents, Daniel and Karen Arcuri, Don and Donna Williams, Jackie and Bill Montgomery, will forever treasure the memories of his heartwarming smile and the sparkle in his eyes that reflected his fascination with the moon, stars, and the beauty of God’s creation. His delight in watching birds take flight was a testament to his love for nature and the simple joys of life.

Danny was the dear nephew of Caitlyn (Brandon) Mecum, Eric (Katy) Canobbio, Brooke Canobbio, Aliah Canobbio, Ty Harbaugh, Brayden (Tara) Harbaugh, Brynn (Ben) Fullerton, Cody (Alyson) Wheeler, Jordan (Genevieve) Wheeler, Paige Harbaugh, Partick Harbaugh, Victor Harbaugh, and Gabriella (Josiah) Christensen.

Also survived by cousins, great aunts, great uncles, and his special dog, Roxy.

Despite his young age, Danny faced significant health challenges with a resilience that inspired everyone around him. His 347-day battle in the ICU at UPMC Children's Hospital showcased his remarkable strength. Even in the most trying times, Danny's ability to keep spirits high was a testament to his character. The caring staff at Children's Hospital found solace in his presence, as his room would often be filled with music and the sight of Danny bobbing his head along to the songs, bringing light to even the darkest moments.

Though his time with us was far too short, Danny's legacy is one of love and courage. He will forever live in the hearts of those he leaves behind, a reminder of the profound impact one small soul can have on the world. His family takes comfort in knowing that Danny is now at peace, free from the earthly constraints that once bound him.

We love you, Danny Boy. May the road forever rise to meet you, and may you find joy in the heavens as you did here on earth, among the moon and stars you so dearly loved. Your memory will continue to guide and inspire us.
