Of Monroeville, age 78, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, October 1, 2021.
Born the son of the late Raymond and Ethel (Hunnell) Cowell.
Loving brother of Dan (the late Connie) Cowell of Irwin and Michael Cowell of Monroeville.
Preceded in death by siblings; Janice Cowell, Robert (surviving spouse, Barb) Cowell, and Jack (surviving spouse, Linda) Cowell.
Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Chuck was a 1960 graduate of Gateway High School, where he excelled an All-Star athlete, playing football, basketball, and baseball. In his early years, Chuck played Little League for North Braddock, and currently still holds a record for hitting 4 home runs in a single game. He proudly served his county as a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. Chuck later attended and graduated from Clarion University with a Masters Degree in Education. After graduating, he was hired by the Turtle Creek High School as both a school teacher and head basketball coach. Chuck later taught in the Woodland Hills School District before retiring. In his later years, he enjoyed playing softball, golfing and passionately caring for his garden. Chuck was a longtime member of St. Michael’s Church in Pitcarin.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday at 12 Noon in St. Bernadette Church of Christ the Divine Shepherd Parish.
Chuck will be laid to rest with Military Honors in Good Shepherd Cemetery.
