Charles A. "Charlie" Sherer Obituary

Of Forest Hills, age 72, died on Friday, March 8, 2024.

Charlie was the beloved husband of Carol (Rump) Sherer for 46 years.

He was the loving and proud father of Carolyn (Ian Bell) Sherer of Washington, D.C. and Tom (Hannah) Sherer of Oakmont.

Charlie was the treasured grandfather of Nora, Jameson and Colin Sherer.

He was the brother of Sally (Jerry) Fitzgibbon of North Versailles, Mary (Will) Perry of NY, Edward (Maureen) Sherer of Plum, Philip (Cindy) Sherer of Forest Hills and the late Richard (surviving spouse, Alice) Sherer.

Charlie was a 1969 graduate of North Braddock Scott High School and enrolled in the Pharmacy School of the University of Pittsburgh. He graduated from Pitt in 1974.  Charlie worked as a Registered Pharmacist at various local pharmacies before securing a position in the pharmacy at the Braddock Hospital in 1979. He was employed at Braddock Hospital until 2006 when he retired.

Charlie was a fan of Pink Floyd and enjoyed watching old movies such as Monty Python and The Lord of the Rings.

He was a member of the committee of his Edgewood Acres neighborhood “Hog Roast” and was honored in his role as one who prepared the hog.

There will not be a visitation but a Memorial Gathering will take place in the near future.
