Charles W. "Charlie" Meade

Of Monroeville, age 68, passed away on Sunday, November 17, 2024.

Born the son of the late Ernest Meade and the late Caroline (Adrian) (Meade) Curry.

Beloved husband of Jeanne (Koppel) Meade for 9 years.

Loving stepfather of James (Emilie) Stadtfeld, Sara Stadtfeld, and Cynthia (Jaimie) Laser.

Cherished step-grandfather of Sydnie Stadtfeld.

Dear brother of Ernest (Janice) Meade, George (Kristin) Meade, and Karen Dewey.  Brother-in-law of Glenn (Mary Alice Koeneke) Koppel.

Also survived by nieces and nephews.

Charlie was a 1974 graduate of Turtle Creek High School.  Charlie also attended Penn State University, where he obtained a bachelor’s degree in forestry.  He proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Army.  Charlie had a long and illustrious career working for several state parks throughout the country.  He began as a Ranger for Yosemite National Park in California.  He later traveled back to PA, where he worked for the State Parks Association in Harrisburg and then eventually Presque Isle.  Charlie was an animal lover at heart and was known to care for turtles, cats, dogs, rabbits, and of course Mosey, his Large Pointer.  Charlie held close to his heart the relaxation of traveling to Pymatuning to go duck hunting.  He will be sorely missed by everyone he leaves behind, especially Jeanne, who he not only spent 9 wonderful years married to, but who has been his best friend for 50 years.  First Love, Last Love.    

Friends are welcome Saturday from 10 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. at Patrick T. Lanigan Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 1111 Monroeville Ave., Turtle Creek, PA 15145, (412) 823-9350, where a Funeral Service will be held Saturday at 12:30 p.m., followed by a presentation of Military Honors.
