Age 45, of Monroeville, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 18, 2021 after a courageous battle with Breast Cancer.
She was surrounded by her family she loves, and who will love her, forever and always.
Caryn is survived by her loving husband and soulmate, Erik. Together they have three beautiful children, Jakob, Lizzie, and Owen. Caryn is also survived by her parents, Robert and Linda (Keaton) Gevaudan; her brother, Bob Gevaudan; her sister Jeanine Gevaudan-Zmenkowski (Mark); her sister-in-law, Rachel Richman; and her nephew, Ethan Martin.
Caryn has a warrior's heart, and she fought valiantly with dignity and grace. Throughout her battle she continued to put others before herself. She was unwavering in her dedication to her family and loved ones who will continue to honor her by striving to live their lives with the same devotion to family, selflessness, and integrity that she exhibited throughout her life.
Family, friends, and the beach brought Caryn the greatest joy. She spent time each summer at her happy place, the Outer Banks. Although the ocean was her favorite place, Caryn only needed to be surrounded by her family and loved ones to be the most happy and content. Raising her children with Erik was the greatest joy of her life. Caryn strived to be the best wife, mom, daughter, sister, and friend; and she succeeded.
Caryn graduated from Plum High School in 1994. After graduation, Caryn attended Clarion University and earned a degree in Special Education. She taught at Sto-Rox High School for 22 years. Caryn was a dedicated teacher; respected and loved by colleagues and students. She was a positive influence in the lives of so many who will never forget her bright smile and caring heart.
