Bonita A. "Bonnie" Stanko Obituary

Bonita A. (Burgo) Stanko, affectionately known as ‘Bonnie’ to her friends and loved ones, left this world with peace on February 8, 2025, at the age of 79.
Bonnie was the beloved spouse of Robert Stanko for 35 years. She was previously married to Raymond Mastromonaco who died within 10 years of their wedding.
She was the loving mother of Erik Stanko, Sr. of Forest Hills and Erik's former spouse, Christy.
Bonnie was the proud grandmother of her cherished grandchildren, Devan (Cameron) Zapadka and Erik A. Stanko, Jr.
She was preceded in death by her sister Victoria (surviving spouse, Al) Solar.
Bonnie was the treasured aunt of Victor (Patty) Solar and their children, Olivia and Alex.
She is also survived by numerous cousins and friends.

Bonnie was a 1963 graduate of Penn Hills High School. For over 30 years, in her  career in accounting at both E.L. Weigand and Prudential Real Estate, Bonnie formed many lasting friendships. Known for her wit and humor, Bonnie had the remarkable ability to be a bright light and bring joy to those around her as her presence was a source of comfort and happiness. Bonnie took great pleasure in cooking delicious meals. Entertaining family and friends was not just a pastime for her, but a way of expressing her love and affection.

Bonnie's home was beautifully decorated as she had an eye for design and took pride in creating a welcoming space for all who entered. Shopping was another joy in her life, and she had a talent for finding the perfect items to enhance her home and wardrobe.

Yet, it was perhaps her conversations with her BFFs that Bonnie cherished most. She could spend hours on the phone, sharing stories and laughter, offering advice, and staying connected with those she held dear.

The words funny, loving, and thoughtful reflect Bonnie. She was a beacon of light and love, a shoulder to lean on, and a source of endless humor.
