Bonita V. (Homa) Hills

A lifelong resident of Turtle Creek, age 78, passed away on Sunday, July 4, 2021 after a valiant fight with cancer and COPD.

Bonnie was the beloved mother of Michael (Kimberly) Hills of Churchill and Beth (Anthony Accettulla) Hills of Monroeville.

Treasured grandmother of Mitchell and Sean Hills; Maxwell and Lucinda Accettulla.

Dear sister of Barbara (Bernie) McCabe of Turtle Creek, the late Beverly Homa, late Blair (surviving spouse, Joan) and the late Bernadette Spigle.

Bonnie is also survived by nieces and nephews.

Bonnie was born in Turtle Creek a daughter of the late Joseph and Clover (Loomis) Homa. She was a 1960 graduate of Turtle Creek High School and was a proud ‘Creeker’ for her entire life.

Bonnie enjoyed working with the public as an expert selling children’s shoes at the former Kenny Kardon in Monroeville Mall and at Stan’s Stride Rite in Monroeville, and work boots at the Monroeville Red Wing store. She was a strong woman who enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren who adored her. Bonnie also had many adventurous road trips with ‘the girls’ who were her friends through life and she had an enduring, special friendship with her lifelong friend and neighbor, Mary Carol.

Bonnie also shared a love of fishing and camping with her family

She was an excellent seamstress and could fix or mend any piece of clothing, and her knitted afghans were outstanding as well.

Bonnie was a friend to many wonderful people in her life. Her light will shine on by the love she shared with her family and friends.

Friends are welcome on Friday from 2-4 & 6-8pm at Patrick T. Lanigan Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., Turtle Creek / Monroeville Chapel, 1111 Monroeville Ave., Turtle Creek, 412-823-9350 where a Blessing Service will be held on Friday at 7pm with Rev. Thomas J. Burke as the Celebrant.

Bonnie will be laid to rest privately in Good Shepherd Cemetery.
